When Do Babies Start Teething?
So When Will My Baby Start Teething?
Unfortunately there is no one size fits all age! The short and sometimes frustrating answer is, it will vary from baby to baby.
Teething can be uncomfortable, symptoms and signs normally include:
Flushed red cheeks
Red swollen gums
Drooling (more than usual)
A slight fever
Sucking on objects such as toys or fists
However, this could be a part of baby's normal development, so for sound advice, always seek out your doctor.
Baby's first tooth can start as early as 2 months, but generally speaking it's around the 6 month mark that things will start ramping up and teeth will continue to grow for the next 2-3 years.
Gums and new teeth are sensitive and should be taken care of. There are multiple ways you can help sooth the irritants of the teething process.
A cool clean washcloth or teething ring
Soft foods, such as a rusk
Silicone necklaces under supervision
Gently rubbing gums and applying light pressure with a clean finger
If you have any concerns related to your child's tooth health, consult your doctor or dentist.
